We invite you to participate in the seminar “Philosophy and Social Movements”. The seminar guest will be Professor Ana Isla who will deliver a talk “An Ecofeminist Critique to Sustainable Development”.
The seminar will be held 16 November 2024 (Saturday) at 3 p.m. CET.
Ana Isla is Professor of Sociology and Women’s Studies at Brock University (St. Catharines, Ontario). Her publications include “The  «Greening» of Costa Rica: Women, Peasants, Indigenous Peoples, And The Remaking Of Nature|” (University of Toronto Press 2015), “Climate Chaos. Ecofeminism and the Land Question” (Inanna Publications 2019, edited volume), “The Routledge Handbook on Ecosocialism” (Routledge 2021, co-edited volume, with L. Brownhill, S. Engel di Mauro et al.)
The seminar is organized within a scope of the project “Ideas of progress and development in the context of climate crisis in peripheral philosophies in XXI century” – National Science Centre, Poland, Opus 22, grant no 2021/43/B/HS1/03354 – realized at the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Warsaw, and in the collaboration with “Le  Monde diplomatique – edycja polska”, Foundation Instytut Wydawniczy “Książka i Prasa” and Rosa Luxemburg Foundation.
